I am Alexia Seretidou. I was born in Komotini,a town in north Greece. I came to Crete, Chania in 1998 to study electronic engineering.I live and work in Ierapetra since 2006.
As a child one of my favorite things to do was to spend time with older people and hear stories about others that I 've never met, from places that I 've never been. So I try to illustrate stories and describe situations my way although my work is half without the title. I use watercolors, inks, pastels, linocut, cyanotype, natural dyes, handmade papers. Sometimes I fuse them with photocopied photographs of people that lived in the early 20th century. Those “heroes” along with the handmade papers from all around the world, chocolate wrapping paper, used sandpaper, old paintings that I cut and reuse them and various other materials, tell small stories, sometimes bitter, sometimes funny and sometimes hopeful just like life.
In 2021 I became a member of Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
